SEDER MEAL
Our Eucharistic Celebration has a very rich tradition which is rooted in the Jewish Seder or Passover Meal. In the Seder Meal, the Jewish people kept alive in their memory the saving actions of God. This brought them from slavery in Egypt to freedom, and they handed on to their children the stories of God’s actions on behalf of their people. The different types of foods eaten are symbols that are used in retelling the story of the Exodus. It was in the context of such a meal that Jesus gave us Himself in the Eucharist as a sign of the new Passover, bringing us with Himself from death to life.
Our own participation in the Seder Meal is a beautiful way to increase our understanding and appreciation of the Mass. Please consider joining us Wednesday, March 31st, at 6:30 p.m. for a delicious catered meal in the Community Gathering Center. This is a very special family affair. We can only accommodate approximately 150 people including children, therefore, reservations will be on a first come basis.
The charge for this catered meal event will be $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Children attending must be five years or older.
